Celtic clinch the Premiership title

Celtic have won the William Hill Premiership trophy after a dramatic 3-1 win over Heart of Midlothian at Parkhead to secure a fifth successive title.

Hearts needed a point to claim their first top-flight title since 1959/60 and they took the lead through Lawrence Shankland's 43rd-minute header.

Arne Engels equalised with a penalty in first-half stoppage time but there were only three minutes of the 90 remaining when Daizen Maeda made it 2-1 for Celtic.

Substitute Callum Osmand netted the third goal eight minutes into added time as Martin O'Neill's men finished with five wins out of five after the split.

Motherwell finished fourth and are guaranteed European football next season after Lukas Fadinger scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Hibernian at Easter Road.

Third-placed Rangers signed off with a 5-2 victory away to Falkirk, helped by a hat-trick from Youssef Chermiti.
